Anthropomorphic Phantoms

Thorax-Lung Phantom

In response to the RTOG lung trials, the IROC Houston designed two phantoms simulating a thorax. These phantoms simulate a a heterogeneous thorax for remote verification of radiotherapy of the lung. The phantoms mimic an actual patient, and are designed to challenge the imaging system, treatment planning system, and the dose delivery system. They measure dose to the primary target volume in the lung and also to the nearby critical structures.
